Initial Set Up
This step will cover signing into Globus and setting up the StatDS collection. Globus requires a separate account that is tied to your AndrewID.
1- Log in using the Google option with your AndrewID.
2- Add the collection.
2a- Go to “File Manager” > “Collection” > then use the search bar and type "Carnegie Mellon University Statistics & Data Science"

2b- Select the collection, then click “Continue” to sign in.

3b- Once you are signed in, you will be taken to a page with all of your /home directory contents.
The receiving user needs a Globus account
1- Navigate to a directory you would like to share within the Statistics & Data Science Collection.
2- In the menu on the right of the page select “Share”.

3- In the new page select “Add Guest Collection”.

4- Verify the "Directory" you want to share is correct and provide a “Name” and “Description”.

5 - Once the Collection is created, go to “Collections” on the left menu bar and select the newly created Collection.

6- Once in the Collection, select “Permissions” at the top and then “Add Permissions - Share With”.

7 - On the new page, your path will default to “/”. This is the root of the path you chose to share. Enter the email of the user whom you want to share with.
Change permissions as required.

The external user will receive an email that contains a link to access the collection with their GlobusID. The user can ONLY access the folder you created a collection for.

Once the user clicks the link, they can then download/upload (depending on the permissions you granted) to the collection.
