ACCESS
From Stat DS Computing Wiki
The NSF’s ACCESS (Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support) program builds upon the successes of the 11-year XSEDE project.
NSF funded supercomputers, like PSC are available via the ACCESS federated system. Besides parallel or memory-intensive computing options, there are many GPU resources available to ACCESS users via the Credit Marketplace.
- If you are a Graduate Student, all you need is an account, your CV, a 1-paragraph abstract and a letter from your advisor. With these 4 items, you can complete a simple form and get up to 400,000 cpu-hours to exchange for access to most of the nations supercomputing cyberinfrastructure. Checkout the following link.
- If you previously held an XSEDE account, you can login here: https://identity.access-ci.org/new-user-federated and complete your account transition from XSEDE to ACCESS by selecting “ACCESS CI (XSEDE)” and subsequently login using Andrew Web Login. You will then be guided through a short verification process similar to any other website.
- If you are new to the department or supercomputing in general, I set up a new account so you will be able to access (no pun intended) these resources easily now or in the future. Visit https://identity.access-ci.org/new-user-federated to set up a new account - make sure to choose “Carnegie Mellon University”!
- The interface to the Supercomputing Credit Market is still being improved, but we are working on documentation to address that.
